Fire-Resistant Glass
Integrity and insulating fire glass supplied and fitted into tested frames.
Learn more →Integrity fire glass, classified E, stops flames and hot gases passing for the rated time but does not limit the heat coming through. EW glass adds a cap on the heat radiated through the glass. Both are thinner, lighter and cheaper than fully insulated glass.

We supply and fit integrity glass in screens, doors, vision panels and windows where the fire strategy allows it, and upgrade to EW or EI where it does not. Choosing correctly between E, EW and EI is where most of the cost on a project is decided.
Integrity-only glass may be acceptable in some fire-resisting partitions, screens and doors, often at high level, within the limits national guidance sets. Compartment walls normally need insulating (EI) glazing.
Building guidance restricts how much integrity-only glass can be used on protected escape routes and where it can sit. Check the route before choosing E glass.
EW glass limits radiation to 15 kW/m² measured one metre from the glass, reducing the risk of igniting materials or harming people nearby.
Modern integrity glass is usually available with an impact classification, unlike plain wired glass.
Integrity glass costs a fraction of insulated glass and fits slimmer frames, which is why specifying it correctly matters.
E glass gets hot in a fire. Furniture or stored materials beside it can ignite from radiated heat.
E 30 integrity glass from £180/m², EW from £280/m², supplied and fitted, excluding VAT. Prices depend on the rating, pane sizes, frame system, access and programme. Use the guide price tool for a range, or see all guide prices.
Glass that stops flames and hot gases for the rated time but lets heat through. It is classified E.
EW glass also limits heat radiation through the glass, which reduces the risk to people and materials near it.
In limited amounts and positions. Building guidance sets the rules; insulating glass is used where those limits are exceeded.
Yes, considerably, and it is thinner and lighter.
