Learn more →A fire-rated glazed door is a fire door with substantial glass in it, from a large vision panel to a fully glazed leaf, supplied as a tested doorset or to a certificated specification. The glass, beads, seals, frame, hinges, closer and lock all form part of the rating.

We supply and install glazed fire doorsets in timber, steel and aluminium, single and double, as stand-alone doors or within glazed screens. We match the door to the rating and duty of its position, and fit it to the manufacturer's installation instructions.
The safest route is a complete doorset with frame and hardware tested together. Mixing a leaf from one source with a frame from another needs evidence that covers the combination.
Each door design allows a maximum glazed area and aperture positions. Bigger glass needs a door tested for it.
Doors that subdivide corridors and doors that swing both ways normally need vision panels, and integrity-only glass in doors may be limited by building guidance on escape routes.
Self-closing devices and correct gaps are part of the performance. We set them at installation and record them.
Opening forces, vision panel zones and contrast need to work with accessibility guidance as well as fire.
Residential blocks in England over 11 metres need regular fire door checks under the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022; glazed doors are included.
Glazed fire doorsets typically from £950 per single door supplied and installed, excluding VAT. Prices depend on the rating, pane sizes, frame system, access and programme. Use the guide price tool for a range, or see all guide prices.

Yes, some steel, aluminium and timber doorsets are tested with large or full-height glazing. The glass must be the type and size in the evidence.
Cutting new apertures into a fire door is only acceptable when done under the door manufacturer's or certification scheme's instructions. Often a new doorset is the safer answer.
