Fire-Rated Glazed Screens
Internal glazed screens that keep compartments and corridors protected.
Learn more →Aluminium fire-rated screens are glazed walls built from aluminium profiles that have been tested with fire-resistant glass and insulating inserts. They suit offices, healthcare and education buildings that want a clean, modern frame matching the rest of the glazing.

Aluminium softens at a lower temperature than steel, so fire-rated aluminium systems rely on specific internal inserts, reinforcements and glazing details. We install only the tested system as a whole, in anodised or powder-coated finishes, with doors and side panels where the evidence allows.
Fire-rated aluminium profiles contain insulating and intumescent inserts that standard profiles do not. Swapping in a standard section to save cost removes the rating.
Aluminium fire screens can be visually matched to non-rated partitions elsewhere, so a floor reads as one design while only some walls are fire-rated.
Aluminium systems are commonly available at 30 and 60 minutes; higher ratings are less common and may point to a steel system instead.
Some aluminium systems are tested for external facades, others for internal use only. We match the system to the position.
Head details and fixing centres come from the system documentation, especially beneath long-span slabs.
Hinges, locks and closers fitted to doors within the screen must be compatible with the door's evidence.
Aluminium screens typically £700–£1,200/m² supplied and installed, excluding VAT. Prices depend on the rating, pane sizes, frame system, access and programme. Use the guide price tool for a range, or see all guide prices.
Yes, when it is a system designed and tested for fire. Ordinary aluminium partitions and windows are not fire-rated, however thick the glass.
30 and 60-minute ratings are common, in integrity or insulation classes depending on the glass. We confirm availability for the sizes you need.
Some systems are tested for external use. If the screen forms part of the building envelope we specify an external-rated system and glass.
Usually they can be matched closely in profile and colour so rated and non-rated areas look consistent.
