Learn more →From the CB21 district outwards, we arrange fire-rated curtain walling for buildings across Cambridge, matching glass, frames and seals to tested evidence rather than guesswork.

We supply and install fire-rated curtain walling and fire-rated zones within standard curtain walling, alongside the fire-stopping at slab edges. External wall work is closely scrutinised after recent regulatory changes, so every element we fit is backed by evidence for its position.
The gap between the curtain wall and each floor slab needs fire-stopping designed with the facade, not added afterwards.
Fire-rated units can still meet thermal targets when specified correctly; we confirm U-values with the system supplier.
Work on higher-risk residential buildings in England goes through the Building Safety Regulator, which needs full product evidence at the design stage.
Whether the building is in central Cambridge or the wider CB21, CB2, CB3, CB1, CB4, CB5 districts, we can survey and quote. We also cover Newmarket, Ely, Huntingdon. Cambridge is about 48 km from Peterborough, the largest town in our Cambridgeshire coverage.
If an existing frame in a Cambridge building has no traceable evidence, we say so and price the options rather than guess.
Designs follow the building and fire safety rules that apply in England, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
You receive the classification references, glass marks and installation photographs for your fire safety records.
Building work in England is covered by the Building Regulations 2010, with fire safety guidance in Approved Document B and impact safety guidance for glazing in Approved Document K.
Once a building is in use, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to maintain fire safety measures, including fire-resisting glazing. The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 add duties for multi-occupied residential buildings, including fire door checks in buildings over 11 metres.
In higher-risk buildings, broadly 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes, the Building Safety Regulator is the building control authority. England is also phasing out BS 476 references from Approved Document B, with the remaining fire-resistance references due to go in September 2029.
Fire-rated curtain walling applies to many building types in Cambridge, including offices and retail and leisure units.
We can supply and install on taller buildings where the project has the required approvals, and we provide evidence suitable for the Building Safety Regulator in England.
Sometimes, if the existing system has a tested fire-rated version. Otherwise a local replacement may be needed.
