Fire-rated glass partitions are office-style glazed walls that are also tested to resist fire, used where a meeting room, corridor wall or reception wall forms part of a protected route or compartment. They look like standard office partitions but use rated frames, glass and seals throughout.
Non-rated partitions on the same floor can be matched in profile and finish.
Large glass walls need manifestation so people can see them. Applied film must be compatible with the glass and not cover any marks building control may need to see.
Meeting rooms often need acoustic performance too. Some fire partition systems are tested for both; we confirm the combination.
Our County Antrim coverage takes in Belfast (BT1, BT14, BT15, BT2, BT3, BT12) and the neighbouring towns of Newtownabbey, Lisburn, Newtownards. Belfast is the largest town in our County Antrim coverage.
You receive the classification references, glass marks and installation photographs for your fire safety records.
After survey you get a fixed written quote for the agreed scope, so Belfast budgets are not open-ended.
We can phase work in Belfast around residents, staff or pupils, with out-of-hours options.
In Northern Ireland, building work follows the Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012, with fire safety guidance in Technical Booklet E, approved by the district council's building control.
Once in use, the Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 and the Fire Safety Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010 require the appropriate person to maintain fire safety measures, including fire-resisting glazing.
We can survey and quote for schools and colleges, public buildings and other building types in Belfast.
Only where the fire strategy says the wall is fire-resisting, for example along a protected escape corridor or a compartment line. Many meeting room walls do not need a rating.
Some butt-jointed systems are tested for fire. See our frameless fire-rated glazing service for what is possible.
