Insulated Fire Glass (EI)
EI 30 to EI 120 glass that blocks heat as well as flames.
Learn more →If a building in London needs fire-rated glass floors, the starting point is the rating its fire strategy requires. We confirm that, survey the openings and quote a tested system to suit.

A fire-rated glass floor is a walk-on glazed floor panel, set in a tested support frame, that keeps both its load-bearing capacity and its fire resistance for a stated time. Because a floor carries load, its classification also includes R for load-bearing capacity alongside integrity and insulation.
Every quote in London identifies the tested system: frame, glass, beads, seals and fixings, within its pane-size limits.
After survey you get a fixed written quote for the agreed scope, so London budgets are not open-ended.
You receive the classification references, glass marks and installation photographs for your fire safety records.
A glass floor must carry its design load during the fire period. Only systems tested for both should be used.
Glass floors are made to order with longer lead times; we plan early with your contractor.
Tested floor panels have maximum spans. Larger openings are divided by a supporting grid.
We cover London and the surrounding postcode districts, including EC1A, EC1M, EC1N, EC1R, EC3, EC4A. Nearby towns we also serve include Westminster, Pimlico, Islington. London is the main town we cover in Greater London.
Building work in England is covered by the Building Regulations 2010, with fire safety guidance in Approved Document B and impact safety guidance for glazing in Approved Document K.
Once a building is in use, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to maintain fire safety measures, including fire-resisting glazing. The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 add duties for multi-occupied residential buildings, including fire door checks in buildings over 11 metres.
In higher-risk buildings, broadly 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes, the Building Safety Regulator is the building control authority. England is also phasing out BS 476 references from Approved Document B, with the remaining fire-resistance references due to go in September 2029.
We can survey and quote for schools and colleges, student accommodation and other building types in London.
R is load-bearing capacity, E is integrity and I is insulation. A floor needs R because it carries people and loads.
Each system sets maximum panel sizes; larger areas are divided by a supporting grid.
Building work in London follows the Building Regulations 2010 and Approved Document B, and occupied buildings are covered by the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
We can give a guide range from photos and sizes, including a clear photo of any marks on the glass. A fixed price follows a survey.
