Fire-Rated Glazed Screens
Internal glazed screens that keep compartments and corridors protected.
Learn more →When a fire strategy, inspection report or building control comment in Havant calls for glazing tested to resist fire, our steel fire-rated screens service covers survey, supply and installation.
Tell us what you need. We reply with next steps and a guide price.
We supply and install tested steel screen systems in black, RAL colours and industrial finishes, including the gridded warehouse look, with integrated single and double doors. Each screen is drawn up within its system evidence so the appearance does not come at the cost of the rating.
Steel profiles stay slim at higher ratings and carry heavy glass without bulky frames, which suits stair cores, lobbies and offices where light matters.
Decorative steel-look aluminium or slim steel partitions sold for offices are not automatically fire-rated. We only fit systems with test or assessment evidence for the classification you need.
Paint and powder coat are normally covered by the evidence, but intumescent strips and seals must not be painted over. We protect them during finishing.
Building work in England is covered by the Building Regulations 2010, with fire safety guidance in Approved Document B and impact safety guidance for glazing in Approved Document K.
Once a building is in use, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to maintain fire safety measures, including fire-resisting glazing. The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 add duties for multi-occupied residential buildings, including fire door checks in buildings over 11 metres.
In higher-risk buildings, broadly 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes, the Building Safety Regulator is the building control authority. England is also phasing out BS 476 references from Approved Document B, with the remaining fire-resistance references due to go in September 2029.
Whether the building is in central Havant or the wider PO9, PO10 districts, we can survey and quote. We also cover Waterlooville, Portsmouth, Gosport. Southampton, around 30 km from Havant, is the largest town in the same coverage area.
Every quote in Havant identifies the tested system: frame, glass, beads, seals and fixings, within its pane-size limits.
Designs follow the building and fire safety rules that apply in England, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
We can phase work in Havant around residents, staff or pupils, with out-of-hours options.
We can survey and quote for public buildings, industrial units and other building types in Havant.
Most steel fire screens can be powder-coated to a wide range of RAL colours, with black and anthracite the most requested.
Often slightly, especially at higher ratings, but steel can be the more economical route when panes are large or the rating is EI 60 and above.
We can give a guide range from photos and sizes, including a clear photo of any marks on the glass. A fixed price follows a survey.
Yes. We plan phasing, out-of-hours work and temporary protection so the building can stay in use where the fire strategy allows.
