Steel Fire-Rated Screens
Slim steel frames for long spans, high ratings and heavy glass.
Learn more →If a building in Rhyl needs fire-rated glazed screens, the starting point is the rating its fire strategy requires. We confirm that, survey the openings and quote a tested system to suit.

A fire-rated glazed screen is an internal wall made largely of glass that forms part of a fire-resisting construction, such as a corridor wall, a stair enclosure or a compartment wall. It lets daylight and sightlines through while holding back fire for the period the fire strategy requires.
Building guidance limits where integrity-only glazing can sit on protected escape routes, and in some positions restricts it to above a set height from the floor. Insulating screens are not restricted in the same way, so the route plan often decides the glass.
Long screens under slabs need deflection heads so floor movement does not crack the glass or open gaps. The head detail has to come from the same evidence as the rest of the screen.
A door in a glazed screen has to be tested in that configuration or covered by a doorset certificate and an assessment for the screen. We specify the door and screen as one system rather than mixing products.
Building regulations are devolved in Wales, so fire safety design follows the Welsh Ministers' version of Approved Document B rather than the English one, alongside impact safety guidance for glazing.
The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies in Wales, so the responsible person must maintain fire-resisting glazing as part of the premises' fire safety measures. The Fire Safety Act 2021 confirmed this extends to the structure, external walls and flat entrance doors of multi-occupied residential buildings.
Our Clwyd coverage takes in Rhyl (LL18) and the neighbouring towns of Colwyn Bay, Flint, Heswall. Rhyl is about 45 km from Wrexham, the largest town in our Clwyd coverage.
Every quote in Rhyl identifies the tested system: frame, glass, beads, seals and fixings, within its pane-size limits.
If an existing frame in a Rhyl building has no traceable evidence, we say so and price the options rather than guess.
You receive the classification references, glass marks and installation photographs for your fire safety records.
Fire-rated glazed screens applies to many building types in Rhyl, including blocks of flats and hotels.
Yes. Many screens are glazed from floor to ceiling, subject to the classification needed on that route and any impact safety requirements at low level.
It depends on the system's evidence. Most systems state maximum pane sizes and overall heights; very tall or wide screens may need an assessment from a test body. We confirm the limits during design.
Rhyl is in Wales, where the Welsh Approved Document B applies to building work and the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 covers occupied premises.
Yes. We survey and install in Rhyl and across Clwyd, including the LL18 district and nearby Colwyn Bay.
