A fire-rated glazed door is a fire door with substantial glass in it, from a large vision panel to a fully glazed leaf, supplied as a tested doorset or to a certificated specification. The glass, beads, seals, frame, hinges, closer and lock all form part of the rating.
The safest route is a complete doorset with frame and hardware tested together. Mixing a leaf from one source with a frame from another needs evidence that covers the combination.
Self-closing devices and correct gaps are part of the performance. We set them at installation and record them.
Each door design allows a maximum glazed area and aperture positions. Bigger glass needs a door tested for it.
Whether the building is in central Bournemouth or the wider BH1, BH2, BH4, BH3, BH5, BH9 districts, we can survey and quote. We also cover Christchurch, Poole, New Milton. Bournemouth is the main town we cover in Dorset.
Designs follow the building and fire safety rules that apply in England, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
We can phase work in Bournemouth around residents, staff or pupils, with out-of-hours options.

Building work in England is covered by the Building Regulations 2010, with fire safety guidance in Approved Document B and impact safety guidance for glazing in Approved Document K.
Once a building is in use, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to maintain fire safety measures, including fire-resisting glazing. The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 add duties for multi-occupied residential buildings, including fire door checks in buildings over 11 metres.
Sector guides below cover student accommodation, retail and leisure units and other buildings in Bournemouth.
