Learn more →Fire-rated curtain walling in Sale is usually needed for one of three reasons: new building work, a change to an existing fire-resisting wall, or defects found in an inspection. We handle all three.
Tell us what you need. We reply with next steps and a guide price.
We supply and install fire-rated curtain walling and fire-rated zones within standard curtain walling, alongside the fire-stopping at slab edges. External wall work is closely scrutinised after recent regulatory changes, so every element we fit is backed by evidence for its position.
Designs follow the building and fire safety rules that apply in England, not a one-size-fits-all approach.
We can phase work in Sale around residents, staff or pupils, with out-of-hours options.
You receive the classification references, glass marks and installation photographs for your fire safety records.
In England, materials in the external walls of relevant buildings 18 metres or more in height are restricted. We coordinate with the facade designer on every component.
External walls close to a boundary may need to be fire-resisting with limited unprotected areas. Fixed glazing that meets the wall's full fire-resistance requirement, including insulation where required, is not counted as unprotected area, so it can let you keep glass in those positions.
External fire glass must be suitable for UV and weather exposure, usually in a sealed double-glazed unit with the fire pane positioned as tested.
We cover Sale and the surrounding postcode districts, including M33, M32, M41, M21, M23, M17. Nearby towns we also serve include Stretford, Urmston, Old Trafford. Manchester, around 8 km from Sale, is the largest town in the same coverage area.
Building work in England is covered by the Building Regulations 2010, with fire safety guidance in Approved Document B and impact safety guidance for glazing in Approved Document K.
Once a building is in use, the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to maintain fire safety measures, including fire-resisting glazing. The Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022 add duties for multi-occupied residential buildings, including fire door checks in buildings over 11 metres.
In higher-risk buildings, broadly 18 metres or seven storeys with two or more homes, the Building Safety Regulator is the building control authority. England is also phasing out BS 476 references from Approved Document B, with the remaining fire-resistance references due to go in September 2029.
