Fire-rated glazing costs depend mainly on the classification, pane size, frame system and access. As a guide, integrity glass fitted into an existing frame starts around £180 per square metre, insulating EI 30 glass from about £350, and complete framed screens typically £650 to £1,200 per square metre installed, all ex VAT.
The jump from integrity (E) to insulation (EI) is the biggest single cost driver, because insulating glass is a multi-layer product. Each step up in minutes then adds thickness and weight.
Steel and frameless systems usually cost more than timber or aluminium, though steel can be more economical at high ratings or large panes.
Access, working at height, out-of-hours working, lifting heavy panes and phasing in occupied buildings all add cost.
Our guide-price tool gives a range from your sizes and rating. A survey then confirms the system, evidence and any making-good needed, and we give a fixed written quote.
